Frequently asked questions
Which image formats are supported?
JPG/JPEG and PNG. If your iPhone saves photos as HEIC, export or convert them to JPG first — browsers cannot read HEIC directly.
Will my images lose quality?
Images are embedded at high quality (90% JPEG). Very large images are scaled down to a maximum of about 2000px on the long side to keep the PDF a reasonable size.
Can I mix portrait and landscape images?
Yes. With "Automatic" page size, each page matches its image\u2019s dimensions and orientation.
What does the A4 option do?
It fits each image onto an A4 page, centered with white margins — useful for printing.
Are my images uploaded anywhere?
No. The PDF is built entirely in your browser.
Is there a limit on the number of images?
No fixed limit, but dozens of huge photos can be slow on phones.
Privacy
Your images are assembled into a PDF locally in your browser with pdf-lib. Nothing is uploaded or stored.
Honest limitations
- HEIC/HEIF photos (iPhone default) are not supported — convert to JPG first.
- Very large images are downscaled (max ~2000px) to keep the PDF reasonable.
- No text recognition (OCR): photos of documents stay as images.
